Do you offer free estimates?

Yes! Every project starts with a free estimate. We visit you on-site, look at the areas you would like painted, learn what you are looking for, and then recommend products and a plan specific to your needs.

Question 2

When do you take payment?

Accepted Answer

We ask for a 25% down payment to buy materials and solidify your spot in our schedule. The remaining 75% is not due until after the job is completed and you are completely satisfied! We accept all major credit & debit cards, checks, and money orders.

Question 3

What process do you use to prepare surfaces to make sure the paint “sticks?”

Accepted Answer

We make certain to remove all loose and flaking paint from all surfaces. Often, this is done by pressure washing or manually scraping. Sometimes, surfaces have to be scuffed up, abraded, profiled, or even primed to guarantee adhesion. That’s why we take our time where it counts – in the preparation.

Do you carry insurance and workers comp?

We do! We make sure we protect our customers by carrying the appropriate coverages for general liability and workers' compensation. We recommend using a company with worker's compensation, even if it isn't us!

What type of paint do you recommend?

Accepted Answer

We recommend Sherwin Williams paints because we have a lasting relationship with the brand and they produce high quality products. This means if there is ever a manufacturing defect, we can trust that Sherwin Williams will stand behind their product – and your project. However, we can use any type of paint you wish…this is your house, after all!

What do you use for painted brick and limewash?

Accepted Answer

We are a Romabio Preferred Pro and use Romabio mineral-based products for brick and masonry, including Masonry Flat and Classico Limewash. Romabio also offers a 20-Year Limited Warranty on their Masonry Flat product line.

What type of guarantee do you offer?

Accepted Answer

We offer a two-year workmanship guarantee on all projects, extended to five years on residential projects painted with Sherwin-Williams Duration or Emerald, or Romabio Masonry Flat. So, if you notice an issue – small or large – please call our office. We strive to create “customers for life,” so the fact is, you can call us any time after your project has been completed!

Which paints qualify for the 5-year warranty?

Accepted Answer

Our 2-Year Craftsmanship Warranty covers lower and mid-grade paints, such as Sherwin-Williams A100, SuperPaint, and Latitude. Our 5-Year Craftsmanship Warranty covers residential projects using higher-end products: Sherwin-Williams Duration and Emerald, and Romabio Masonry Flat.

Romabio limewash does not carry a warranty, because limewash is made to weather and soften naturally over time.

What does the warranty cover?

Our warranties cover the things we control as craftsmen, such as cleaning, proper surface preparation, proper carpentry, and applying the correct thickness of paint. If a craftsmanship-related issue comes up within the warranty period, we’ll make it right at no additional cost to you.

When is the best time of year to paint an exterior?

Accepted Answer

Exterior paint needs mild temperatures, low humidity, dry conditions, and minimal wind to cure properly. Here in Raleigh, mid-late spring, early summer, and fall are the most ideal times for exterior painting.
